1. Its in the Details
Melali was designed with comfort in mind. All of the finer details have been carefully considered to ensure your stay is a pleasurable one.
The bathrooms in particular are a feature. All are open to the elements in some form. Whether canvased in Cole & Son jungle palm wallpaper or handcrafted Pesamuan fish scale tiles, the bathroom surrounds will certainly entice. The large teak framed mirrors and vanities give a lovely natural feel to the outdoor/indoor bathroom spaces. Blessed with Sensatia Botanicals bodywash, shampoo, conditioner and soaps, it really makes for an indulgent stay.
The Rooms, including the Sunset Suites and Private Villa are light and spacious and designed to capture the most of the soft early morning and late afternoon sun. Well appointed, each with a balcony or terrace, the rooms exude style through simplicity. The handpicked mattresses are a result of lengthy personal testing, the beds then dressed in fine cotton linen. We feel here at Melali that sleep is essential to an enjoyable stay.
The detailed furnishings, like the hand carved pineapple lamps, the multitude of locally patterned cushions and the handwoven rattan chairs, ensure those who visit feel indelibly special.
From the very beginning, our intention was to serve a breakfast few would forget. From freshly ground Mandaling Estate Sumatran Coffee to wake you from your morning slumber, to pressed fruit and vegetable juices using locally sourced, organic ingredients where possible. Beetroot, carrot, apple, orange, watermelon, pineapple, kale, spinach, cucumber, ginger, turmeric, mint, are just some of the deliciousness on offer.
The main servings are heavenly. Hot coconut porridge with banana and caramelised gula merah (red palm sugar). Silky dragon fruit smoothie bowl topped with fresh fruit, granola, chia seeds and coconut flakes. The simple Balinese style pancake (banana, pineapple or coconut) lavished with generous serves of Nutella. Not forgetting the three egg bacon, tomato and cheese omelette that has quickly become a thing of legend. And if thats not quite enough, all breakfasts include the choice of a fresh fruit salad or wholegrain toast to finish. It’ll be the time of day you look forward to the most.

The south western coastline of the Bukit Peninsula is a world of waves. For those who surf its virtually unrivalled for its quality and variety. From Balangan to Bingin Beach, Impossibles to Uluwatu and everywhere in between, this is surfing heaven.
Consistent offshore trade winds groom powerful Indian ocean swells which unravel their energy on abundant reefs and beaches. Year round warm water and predominantly sunnyskies make this area of Bali seemingly irresistible.

A lone property nestled amongst the surrounding farmland, Melali is peacefully placed at the end of a cobbled laneway. Its location at the foot of the Bukit hills ensures a constant cooling breeze, providing comfort from the hot tropical sun.
The gentle tinkling of cow bells as they happily feed nearby, will be a constant reminder of this tranquil setting. The lush tropical gardens, teeming with colour and vibrancy really does encapsulate an oasis of sorts. A two minute bike ride from Bingin Beach yet a world away.
