Accessibility & Location:
Please be aware, Melali is located in the outskirts of Bingin Village. Expect a 10 minute walk to the village and another 5 minutes to wander down he cliff edge to the famous Bingin Beach. If you are wanting to explore the wider area of the Bukit Peninsula - Padang Padang, Uluwatu, Balangan etc (which we highly recommend!), you will need transport.
Transport / Getting around:
The Bukit Peninsula is a more isolated region of Bali. The easiest and most efficient way to experience the area and get around is by scooter (IDR 70.000 per day). This gives you the flexibility and freedom to explore and access more beaches (Padang Padang, Uluwatu, Balangan etc), restaurants and cafes in the area. Car rental can also be arranged. Prices start from Rp 200,000- Rp 350,000per day.
If you are not comfortable driving, taxis are readily available. Please note, the local taxi company have set prices starting anywhere from Rp 100,000 per hour with a minimum of Rp75.000 for the shortest ride.
If you prefer to be on foot, Bingin Beach is a 10-15 minute walk from Melali.
Bali is a tropical location, therefore you will hear the natural sounds of geckos, crickets, roosters and the occasional dog barking in the nearby farmland. This is the real Bali. Please keep this in mind when deciding whether you want to stay at Melali.
